To become a security professional and work in the security industry in British Columbia, you will need a valid BC Security Worker’s License. In order to successfully apply for your Security Worker’s License, you will need to have completed the Basic Security Training (BST) program.
The Basic Security Training course is regulated by the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC). Following this in-class course there is a mandatory examination which you must pass before you can apply for your Security Worker’s License. The exam itself is a 100-question multiple choice test which you have two hours in which to complete.
Upon your successful pass of the final exam, you will be issued a certificate of completion and will be eligible to apply for a BC Security Worker’s License.
Exam date TBD. Exams usually run the Tuesday or Wednesday of the week following the course.
